Post 58 will face Edenton Post 40 in Round 2

Rocky Mount Post 58 will face fellow North Division member Edenton Post 40 in Round 2 of the American Legion Area I East baseball playoffs.

Post 40 advanced to Round 2 with its 3-2 win over Pitt County Post 39 Wednesday evening in Winterville. It won its series two games to one. Post 58 swept New Bern Post 24 in Round 1 with victories of 14-4 and 19-0.

Post 58 (17-5) will start its best of three series with Edenton (8-8) beginning Friday at 7 p.m. at Gryphon Stadium.

Post 58 swept Post 40 during the regular season (3-0) with wins of 12-11, 11-7 and 10-6.
