Weekend review

Gryphon and UNC-bound senior Benton Moss got to pitch one inning of the Under Armour All-Star Baseball Game at Wrigley Field in Chicago Saturday. Playing for the East in his fifth-inning adventure, he prepares to send a pitch to home plate.

RMHS junior Nah'jerrelle Graves (32) runs through Garner's defense Saturday in the opening game of the HighSchoolOT.com Jamboree at Southeast Raleigh High School. Garner posted two late second-half scores on a 20-yard pass and a six-yard run for the Gryphons to fall 12-0.

Rocky Mount opens the regular season Friday as it renews a rivalry that's been dormant for 31 years as it travels to one-time conference foe Bertie. Game time is 7:30 p.m. (Photo/HighSchoolOT.com)
